Lares is a Linux remake of the offical Ares client. It's open source and allows users to share files with one another; Vidoes, Software, Music, Documents, etc. It's written in C with GTK+ for the interface, the source is freely available under the Creative Commons Public Licence. You're welcome to contribute to Lares in anyway, graphics, development, testing or bug fixing!
